The chapter plan, in the developer's own words
Asked whether the story would be sold piecemeal, the developer answered directly on the Steam forums: the next chapters "won't be sold as DLC, but will be released as updates to the base game," while "the game price will increase after the second chapter release." Practical reading:
- Buy once, receive the story in chapters — no separate purchases to follow along.
- If you want the lowest entry price, buying before (or around) Chapter II's release locks in the current price for the same content pipeline.
- Chapter I is the entire story available at launch; later chapters are dated closer to their release.
Will there be a demo or a playtest?
As of this update (September 25, 2026) the store page offers no demo and no public playtest build. The pre-launch "Update 1" patch notes describe fixes made for testers (stuck spots, out-of-bounds gaps, tutorial text), which tells you the build has been exercised ahead of release — but nothing public has been downloadable. If a demo appears before or after launch, this page gets a section for it the same day.
Steam Deck and controllers
Straight answers are short here, so here they are: Linux is officially a supported platform, so the game needs no translation layer on that OS. Steam Deck status is not confirmed — Valve's compatibility rating is not published for RADIOSOL as of this update. Controller support is not listed in the store's feature list yet, and when a player asked in the forums, the thread did not receive an official reply. We are not going to dress that up: if you plan to play on a gamepad, check the store page (and this section) right around release.
Unlock timing
The store lists the date as September 30, 2026 without publishing an unlock hour as of this update. Steam's release mechanics usually unlock such titles in the morning US time and evening European time; wishlisting the game gets you Steam's notification the moment it flips, whatever the local hour.

Update history
Update 1 — September 22, 2026 (final pre-launch pass): persistent radio markers; rewritten tutorial text; multiple stuck-spot fixes; out-of-bounds gaps closed; hazard tuning across the spider damage system (with the improved audio integration), the cognitive damage effect and Dust Devil behaviour; the Megapol lobby model brought up to final spec; new scare objects placed for unsuspecting players; new files added to the world.
